Richard F. Evins – Managing Partner
Mr. Evins is the firm’s Managing Attorney with nearly 25 years experience practicing primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, collections, consumer credit and contract law. Mr. Evins litigates a broad range of disputes including those related to commercial contracts, consumer law, business disputes, residential and commercial leases, construction contracts, small claims and general civil matters.
He also handles cases related to the collection of medical bills, student loans, retail installment contracts, credit cards and other consumer debt. Mr. Evins represents creditors seeking to recover past due debts and judgments and also represents consumers and businesses being sued on disputed claims.
Mr. Evins practices in the Superior, State, and Magistrate Courts of Georgia. He has handled bench trials and hearings and has performed as lead counsel in numerous jury trials. He has given numerous presentations and seminars in the areas of health care collections, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, post-judgment collection remedies and has appeared as a guest panelist on the television program “The Layman’s Lawyer” on Public Broadcasting Atlanta. Prior to entering practice as a lawyer, Mr. Evins worked in the credit and collections industry.
Amber R. Oliver – Partner
Ms. Oliver is a partner of the firm with 11 years experience. She began her legal career in 2009 as an Associate Divorce Lawyer in Alpharetta, Georgia. There she practiced domestic relations and family law litigation. She also worked with a Special Assistant Attorney General and prosecuted over 100 child support enforcement cases for Fulton County Division of Child Support Services. Those cases included child support establishment, modification, contempt, and domestication actions.
Ms. Oliver worked for an international family law litigation firm in Atlanta and Marietta, Georgia for six years prior to beginning her own practice and then partnering with EVINS · OLIVER · HUGHES LLC. Her practice areas included divorce, alimony, equitable division of property, child custody and visitation, child support, legitimation, family violence, modification, contempt, and bench and jury trials.
Ms. Oliver now practices in the areas of family law, divorce, business litigation, and general civil litigation.
Ms. Oliver has provided attorney training in the areas of child support law and child support prosecution.
Ashley L. Hughes – Partner
Ms. Hughes is a Partner in the Firm’s General and Business Litigation practice groups. Prior to joining Evins Oliver Hughes, LLC, Ms. Hughes worked for several Atlanta-area law firms where she specialized in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in business disputes and professional liability claims. Ms. Hughes also has experience representing clients in probate, intellectual property, real estate and commercial litigation.
In addition to her courtroom experience, Ms. Hughes frequently serves as a presiding judge in undergraduate mock trial competitions.
Ms. Hughes received her Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, where she served as President of the Environmental Law Society and Vice President of the Mercer Technology and Intellectual Property Society. While in law school, Ms. Hughes received the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Patent Law & Litigation and competed in the ABA Regional Negotiation and Arbitration Competitions. Ms. Hughes graduated cum laude with Bachelor of Science degrees in both Political Science and Biology from Kennesaw State University. There, she participated on the Mock Trial Team, serving as both Team Leader and Attorney.
J. Elizabeth Graddy – Of Counsel
A graduate of New York University School of Law, Ms. Graddy has a breadth of legal experience resulting from more than 20 years spent working in settings from government to private and including transactional work as well as disputes. Her practice encompasses trial and appellate litigation, arbitration, and bankruptcy. Having spent much of her career representing Fortune 500 companies, she now focuses on small businesses and high-net-worth individuals. She is licensed in New York, Georgia, and Florida. Ms. Graddy earned bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Georgia and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Cinema Arts from the University of Southern California.
Andrew Holliday – Of Counsel
Andy Holliday graduated law school in 2002. During his career, Andy clerked for a federal United States Magistrate Judge, practiced law for and became a partner at a primarily insurance defense law firm, practiced as staff counsel for an insurance company, and is now of counsel with Evins · Oliver · Hughes LLC. During this time, Andy has worked in fields such as personal injury, medical malpractice, employment discrimination, corporate litigation, and several other areas of law.
Andy is now representing those hurt in all types of personal injury cases. This includes automobile accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, etc. After more than a decade defending those who are claimed to have caused injury to another person, Andy is taking the opportunity to switch gears and represent individuals who have been hurt.
